About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee site operations, projects, maintenance activities and service delivery within the mining environment.

The successful candidate will provide leadership to site teams, manage client and stakeholder relationships, ensure SLA compliance, and drive operational excellence across all areas of responsibility. This role is responsible for coordinating resources, improving operational performance, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time and within budget.

Minimum requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining / Engineering — Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a closely related discipline

Management experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a team management or technical management role, preferably within mining, industrial technology or safety systems

Industry knowledge

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably in the mining or heavy equipment industry
  • Expertise in mining operations, production planning and safety management

Technical skills

  • Familiarity with HSE regulations and best practices in mining
  • Familiarity with CAN-bus systems, Proximity Detection and lamproom systems will be a distinct advantage

Regulatory awareness

  • Working knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and DMR requirements for CPS / proximity detection systems

Other requirements

  • Valid driver's licence
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional South African languages advantageous
  • Good health, as you will be required to pass a medical to work on site
  • Willingness and ability to travel

  • Lead, mentor and develop site teams
  • Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement
  • Manage employee performance and training initiatives

Stakeholder management

  • Ensure SLA compliance and service delivery excellence
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Provide operational, project and safety performance reporting

Risk management and compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal and company requirements
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and records

Operational management and optimisation

  • Manage daily site operations, maintenance and projects
  • Allocate and control human, financial and material resources
  • Improve operational efficiency, productivity and cost effectiveness
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
