About the role
We are looking for a skilled PAS1000 / CAS Level 9 Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and support safety-critical mining technology systems.
The successful candidate will perform technical inspections, fault-finding, repairs and system testing while ensuring compliance with site safety requirements and delivering reliable support to clients and operational teams. Successful candidates will be invited to a first-round practical skills assessment.
Minimum requirements
- Electrician or Auto Electrician trade qualification
- Matric Certificate with Mathematics and Science
- More than three years' experience in the mining industry (advantageous)
- More than three years' experience with A&R equipment
- Valid driver's licence
- Medically fit to work on mine sites and underground
- Basic computer literacy

Scope of work
- Install and connect PAS1000 and CAS Level 9 components according to approved instructions
- Inspect and test system components
- Conduct fault-finding on wiring, harnesses, displays, tags, antennas, PLC modules, sensors, interface boxes and related equipment
- Assist with machine interface checks where applicable
- Replace faulty or damaged components where required and approved
- Verify that the system operates correctly after maintenance or repair work
- Assist with commissioning activities under supervision where required
- Provide technical support to site teams and clients
- Complete job cards, reports, checklists and inspection records accurately
- Maintain company tools, test equipment and issued equipment in good working condition
- Report unsafe conditions, recurring faults, unresolved issues and non-compliance to the relevant supervisor or manager
- Ensure that all work is performed safely and according to A&R and client requirements
