About the role
We are seeking an experienced MPL Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Specialist to provide technical leadership and support for MPL systems in the mining environment.
The successful candidate will lead technical projects and teams, oversee system maintenance and troubleshooting, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide expert guidance to customers and stakeholders to support safe and reliable operations.
Minimum requirements
- Trade or relevant qualification in electrical work or millwrighting
- Engineering diploma
- Trade certificate
- English literacy
- Good communication skills
- Advanced computer and network skills
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Draw.io
- Basic Linux skills
- Physically and medically able to work underground

Areas of responsibility
- Provide product-specific expertise, high-level technical support and planning
- Take responsibility for MPL system compliance with MHSA Regulation 16.7
- Lead and manage MPL technical teams
- Lead projects and new-technology rollout and implementation
- Support commissioning and acceptance testing
- Support technical sign-off for projects
- Create project scope, drawings and schedules for work such as expansions
- Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting and technical support
- Debug complex technical issues across hardware, software and IT infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with safety and legal standards
- Report and analyse equipment reliability and operational performance
- Identify cost-of-ownership anomalies early
- Build strong customer relationships and provide technical expertise
- Conduct site visits, audits and root-cause-analysis investigations
