About the role
We are seeking a CMMS System Support Trainee to assist with the operation, maintenance and support of the Lamproom Management System (CMMS) and related equipment.
Working under the supervision and guidance of experienced team members and direct superiors, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in system support, equipment maintenance, stock control and workshop operations while helping to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of Lamproom and Control Point activities.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- English literacy, including speaking and basic writing
- Good communication skills
- Basic technical knowledge and ability
- Physically able to work underground
- Valid driver's licence (advantageous)
Areas of responsibility
- Assist with CMMS system support and maintenance activities
- Assist with Lamproom and Control Point operations
- Support workshop and repair-bay activities
- Assist with project-related tasks as required
Daily CMMS duties
- Respond to CMMS breakdowns within a reasonable timeframe in accordance with site-specific requirements or the applicable SLA
- Conduct general support and maintenance on CMMS hardware in accordance with site-specific requirements or the applicable SLA
- Report urgent or system-critical matters to the direct line manager and Mine HOD
- Maintain close liaison with the Mine HOD on the effective operation of the Lamproom or Equipment Control Point
CMMS, workshop and operational support
- Assist with CMMS breakdowns, routine system checks and basic hardware maintenance
- Monitor system performance and escalate faults when required
- Support equipment repairs, spare-parts control and stock monitoring
- Maintain repair records, perform quality checks and uphold housekeeping standards
- Assist with reporting, audits, system verification and inventory control
- Capture and update operational records and reports
- Assist with stock counts and liaise with site personnel
These workshop and repair-bay duties are specific to the Amandelbult Complex SLA with Valterra Platinum.
Health, safety and development
- Comply with mine health, safety, environmental and company requirements
- Follow site procedures and promote safe working practices
- Develop practical knowledge of CMMS and Lamproom operations
- Gain experience in equipment maintenance, fault-finding, reporting and inventory control
- Progress towards independently supporting CMMS and Lamproom systems
